Great for big guys January 29, 2010 W. Ford (Royston, GA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm a big man. (6'5" 294#) I love this hammock. In the bag with everything you need (except two trees) it is about half the size of a football and about 1 1/2 lbs. When I first took it out of the box I was thinking I would have to return the hammock in two pieces because it would never hold me. I was wrong. It holds me in perfect comfort even with my 7 year old son. I leave for Haiti on a medical relief mission tomorrow, and I know this will allow me to use my little free time to get some great sleep. Thanks for a great product at a great price.
Great Hammock! August 4, 2010 TEXAS95 There is enough room in this hammock to fit 2 small people or one big person. The hammock is a little hard to set up as you have to run 2 additional bungie lines to support the netting but it really does not take that long. Other than that it takes about 10min to set up.
Nice, but not what I expected... April 14, 2009 Jeffrey Knott (Gainesville, FL) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I was dead set on getting an ENO hammock, until I read the great raving reviews of the lesser named brands here from Amazon.
I also found that once you start outfitting an ENO hammock with things like bug nets they get very pricey. So I found the Skeeter Beeter.
It was a little bit of a stab having not read any reviews on it, but the price was right and the quality seemed to be there.
The hammock is very comfortable, and made of really nice materials (parachute material for the hammock, and almost like a silk for the bug-net...no cheap-o stuff here).
My only complaints are (and I'm not really sure they're complaints, just things I wish I kn ew before buying), the size of this thing is pretty big for 1 person. 400# capacity doesn't give enough of a description, but I'm 6'1" at 185lbs and I get swallowed by this thing. I wish it was about 10% less wide.
The other thing was the bug-net...cool setup, but it does not come off...not possible to remove. There's a zipper which runs about 90% the length of 1 side, but cannot be peeled back and removed. Not a complaint per se, but I wish I knew these things before-hand
Pretty good overall, does exactly what it says it will do. July 27, 2009 Joseph 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
For larger individuals like myself who need a higher weight rating than the 250# limits standard on most other hammocks, this is one of the better options available. It is easy to set up, but takes a little practice getting in and out of, and you need to make sure that you never sit on top of the bug netting because it WILL tear. The hammock material stretches under load which can make getting out of the hammock difficult, this is easily fixed by tying in a strong ridgeline to hang on to while getting in and out of the hammock. All in all a comfortable hammock to sleep in, and the bug netting really makes a difference here in the southeast.
The only reasons I am not giving this 5 stars is because:
1. The large amount of stretch in the hammock that makes having a ridgeline necessary to get in and out easily.
2. The first (and only) time I accidentally sat on the bug netting, both ends of the zipper tore out its stitching and ripped part of the bug netting. I was able to patch it temporarily with duct tape, but I am going to have to reattach about 6 inches of both ends of the zipper, and sew up the netting before I can use it again.
Was great until it ripped in Half August 1, 2010 Sean loved this thing, it worked great and was light. Only problem was after two months it randomly split in half with me in it. :( and i am only 150????? I am going to get one that is more sturdy
